The 2007-08 Seminar Series will take place at North Carolina Hillel Building, 210 West Cameron Ave, in the Upper Sanctuary near the campus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 6:00pm - 8:30pm.

Sunday, September 16, 2007 Dr. Jonathan Hess (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). Dr. Hess will present an overview of his book-length manuscript on German-Jewish popular literature in the nineteenth century, "Middlebrow Literature and the Making of German-Jewish Identity"

Sunday, October 21, 2007 Professor Dr. Matthias Middell (DAAD Professor of History, Duke University/Universitiät Leipzig).
"The Discussion about Transnational History in Germany"

Sunday, November 18, 2007 Dr.Thomas Robisheaux (Associate Professor of History, Duke University). "Living with Witches." The German lands were the heartland of witchcraft and the witch hunt in Europe. Dr. Robisheaux discusses witchcraft and the witch hunt and his forthcoming book about one of Germany's last witches.

Sunday, January 20, 2008 Dr. Scott Windham (Elon University). Dr. Windam will present a portion of his forthcoming article on Stanley Kramer's 1961 film "Judgment at Nuremberg".

Sunday, February 17, 2008 Dr. Helga Braunbeck (North Carolina State University). Dr. Braunbeck will present a portion of her book-lenght manuscript on contemporary German writer and Czech national Libuse Moníková.
