Graduate Program in German Studies

Admission

The German Studies Program admits several new students annually. These students will have most likely explored German Studies as undergraduates or in M.A. programs at other institutions and in a wide variety of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.

The Graduate School's postmark deadline for applications for fall admission is December 15 . A completed application includes a Statement of Purpose, official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended, three letters of recommendation, official scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination, and a non-refundable application fee. A sample of the candidate's critical writing is required and should be sent directly to the Director of Graduate Studies:
